Delegation from Politecnico di Torino visited Ningbo

On June 15, 2023, a delegation from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) and the Office of International Affairs Cooperation of Politecnico di Torino went to Ningbo, together with Inkred International Consulting Ningbo Ltd. (Inkred) to visit local OEM, provincial innovation center and university in Ningbo, and had friendly exchanges with VREMT, a subsidiary of Geely Holding, Zhejiang Electric Drive Innovation Institute (ZJEDII), Physis New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Physis), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics and International Office of Ningbo University (NBU).
The delegation included Prof. Angelo Bonfitto and Dr. Stefano Favelli, who are responsible for industry-university cooperation in vehicle and mechanical engineering, and Marco Begani, Regional Office Manager of International Affairs China, accompanied by Carrie Jiao, General Manager and Jade Chen, assistant to GM of Inkred.
In the morning, the delegation visited VREMT and had an in-depth exchange with Mr. Li Changluo, General Manager of VREMT New Energy Development Center, and Mr. Zhuo Bendan, HRBP of VREMT, on technical cooperation and talent cultivation. During the meeting, both sides presented their backgrounds. With regard to the Politecnico di Torino, Marco Begani, Regional Manager of the China Office - International Relations, illustrated the previous steps and results of the cooperation between the Politecnico di Torino and China, while Professor Angelo Bonfitto focused on the projects and technical results of the interdisciplinary research centre CARS (Center for Automotive Research and Sustainable Mobility) of the Politecnico di Torino in the field of powertrain. On this topic, both sides agreed that there could be great potential for cooperation in terms of human and technological resources. After that, the delegation visited the showroom accompanied by Ms. Lian Siqi, the assistant of the GM.


In the afternoon, the delegation visited ZJEDII, Physis and NBU. Accompanied by Dr. Li Qingxu, Director of the ZJEDII, the delegation visited the showroom of Physis. Afterwards, the delegation had a meeting with the ZJEDII and the new energy team of Physis. Based on their common intentions, both sides discussed future cooperation in technological innovation and the training of new talent.


The last stop was Ningbo University, where the delegation visited some of the key labs of the faculty of mechanical engineering & mechanics, accompanied by Prof. Zhou Fenghua. Afterwards, the delegation had a specific exchange with NBU. The delegation also visited the Ningbo University history museum.
